Early metallurgical testwork on the district's mineralisation indicated strong recoveries for both oxide and sulphide material, supporting a gravity-plus-leach processing route. These results are preliminary and subject to further test work.
The project sits within the West African Craton, in an Archean greenstone belt that has produced gold across Sierra Leone since the country's earliest gold discoveries.
Gold is associated with quartz veins, shear zones and banded iron formation within the metasedimentary sequence — the iron formation acting as a natural trap for gold-bearing fluids. Both alluvial and primary (hard-rock) targets occur across the district.
The licence lies in the eastern region of Sierra Leone, reached by a network of paved and gravel roads; four-wheel-drive access is needed in the rainy season.
The area is rural, with development planning that accounts for infrastructure, logistics and power. Transport connects to the nearest port at Freetown, and there are suitable lowland areas for future plant and facilities.
